Job Responsibilities: - Performs operation, preventive maintenance work and repair of HVAC, water systems, air compressors, air lines, process equipment, plumbing, boilers, chiller and other equipment maintained by Building Maintenance Department. - Capable of demonstrating knowledge of electronic theory and circuitry. - Physically checks the wiring and operation of electronic system components. - Employs a comprehensive knowledge of electronic theory. - Tears out and installs partitions, walls ceiling, floors, equipment, duct work, piping, etc. - Must be capable of lifting/handling heavy parts, material, or equipment. - Uses a variety of hand tools, performs welding operations; electrical and acetylene torch, reads drawings common to this type of work, identifies all types of fittings, makes material estimates for repair work and material lists from drawings to complete a job. - Works inside and outside of the plant. - Miscellaneous labor for everyday work, such as handling material stock or moving equipment or materials between locations. - Demonstrate flexibility to perform other duties as requested. - Sets priorities under general direction based on production needs and workload. - Maintains records and completes necessary paperwork. - Assist in cleaning up work areas after jobs are completed. - Persons in this position promote a climate of cooperation; leading by example; mentoring others in quality, safety, environmental, Lean and teaming philosophies. - Requires strong inter:personal skill set to support a multitude of internal customers. Qualifications: - Associate's degree or, in absence of a degree, HS Diploma/equivalent and three years of work experience required - Must be able to work 2nd shift - Must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the job. - Must be capable of climbing, lifting and/or handling heavy parts or equipment up to 54 pounds. - Must pass Rockwell Collins Electronics Skills Test for this job classification. - Must be capable of acquiring a fork lift license and maintain a valid driver's license. - Must furnish own hand tools.
